The Most Beautiful Ruby Contest 2017


Criteria for Ruby Submissions

  1. The contest is divided into 2 categories as follows:
    • Natural Ruby – Unheated: separates into 3 categories are 3.00 – 5.00 ct., 5.01 – 10.00 ct. and more than 10.01 ct.
    • Natural Ruby – Conventional heated: separates into 3 categories are 3.00 – 5.00 ct., 5.01 – 10.00 ct. and more than 10.01 ct.
  2. Can be any shape and any origin
  3. Must be loose stone, faceted and more than 3 carats.
  4. Have at least 2 certificates of recognized laboratories such as GIT, AIGS, GIA, GRS, LOTUS, SSEF or GUBELIN which showing the same results.
  5. The owners of ruby winners must be allow to show those rubies at the 60th Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair 2017 (World Ruby Forum booth), Impact Arena – Muang Thong Thani from September 6th – 10th, 2017
  6. Registration period of ruby submissions: August 23rd, 2017 (9.30 – 10.00 AM) Location of ruby submission: The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization), meeting room 3rd floor, ITF building.

The return period of ruby is in the same day (August 23rd, 2017 from 5.00 – 5.30 PM)


The total prize for the winners are 24 prizes which each categories have 4 prizes as follows:

  • The first prize (Platinum Award) 1 prize
  • The first runner-up prize (Gold Award) 1 prize
  • The second runner-up prize (Silver Award) 1 prize
  • The third runner-up prize (Bronze Award) 1 prize

Platinum award will receive a royal trophy from HRH Princess Chulabhorn

All prizes will receive a certificate of recognition from DITP, GIT and AIGS.




Ruby Submission Requirements

  1. Self - Submission at the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization)
    • Registration period of ruby submissions: August 23rd, 2017 (9.30 – 10.00 AM)
    • Location of ruby submission: The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization), meeting room 3rd floor, ITF building
    • Return period of ruby: August 23rd, 2017 (5.00-5.30 PM) and the owners of ruby winners must be allow to show those rubies at the 60th Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair 2017 (World Ruby Forum booth), Impact Arena-Muang Thong Thani from September 6th – 10th, 2017
  2. International Submission by Courier
    • Period of ruby submissions: Rubies must be arrive at GIT within August 22nd, 2017 (before 5.00 PM)

  4. For more details about shipping cost and conditions, please contact courier in your country directly. Furthermore, please inform GIT prior for receiving shipping contest requirement.

Remarks: The owners of rubies must be pay all expense costs such as shipping cost, insurance fee, storage fee and others.
